Benefits of cardio exercise
What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when someone asks you to name the most complex machine? A machine that is capable of solving all sorts of problems just within a few seconds or so.Yes. It’s computers! The computers were invented around the 1970s. But what if I tell you that even the computers have a species which is superior to them and can surpass its intelligence.
Yes. It’s the Human Brain! The human brain is the master of all computers and undoubtedly the fastest machine that exists. But every machine needs some fuel to run. Normal computers need electricity for their operation similarly the human brain also needs fuel which is supplied to it through the nutrients we acquire through the food we eat. But one of the biggest components of that fuel is oxygen. Every living organism needs oxygen and a proper supply of oxygen to the whole body keeps the body healthy and active.
We acquire oxygen by breathing in the air around us. That is the thing every living being does but scientifically it has been proved that more amount of oxygen should be supplied to several parts of the body to keep the body healthy. One way to do so is by performing cardiovascular exercises. Cardiovascular exercise, also known as aerobic exercise, is a movement that increases the heart and respiratory rate and increases the blood and oxygen flow throughout the body.
Some of the cardiovascular exercises include jogging, swimming, HIIT(High-Intensity Interval Training), rope jumping, etc. Cardiovascular exercises benefit the body functioning in a large number of ways. More supply to the body parts means more supply of blood to the body which results in the health, memory, and strengthening of the muscles. This helps the brain to work efficiently and thus making it very efficient in decision making.
Some of the other benefits of cardiovascular exercises are stress control, weight loss, improved cholesterol, improved sleep and also acts as a good reliever. It also improves the blood lipid profile, immunity, glucose tolerance and sense of well being. Performing cardiovascular exercises only sounds tough but it isn’t that tough really. It only takes a nice morning brisk walk, a quick run or swim and nothing more. If done properly it’s us who are going to bear the fruit of the work we put in.
Our body is just a tool built of muscles, tissues and a combination of complex mechanisms but even a machine needs to be taken care of in order to work efficiently and to provide the best output. Just giving some time for our health is not a tedious task. Be a little selfish and think about yourself and see the change it brings about in you. Someone quoted it very true that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. Therefore, just like education is a necessity for society, health and fitness is too and should never be ignored by any individual.
